July 19, 2023 – Dear Cayoose Creek Residents on Pashilqua 2 ( also known as IR2),
We received a Water alert from the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) regarding our water supply which requires immediate attention to ensure the safety and health of all our residents.
Effective immediately, a Boil Water Advisory is being issued for Cayoose Creek Residents on Pashilqua 2 (also known as IR2). This advisory is a precautionary measure to protect the health of our community and prevent any potential risks associated with consuming or using tap water.
Please note that this is a precautionary measure and we are collecting additional samples and conducting further tests to confirm or contradict the initial results at which point we will take the necessary measures to remedy the situation.
During this advisory period, we strongly recommended that you follow the following guidelines:
Boil all tap water intended for consumption: Bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making ice cubes, preparing food, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.
Use boiled or bottled water for all food preparation: This includes cooking, washing fruits and vegetables, and making beverages such as coffee, tea, or baby formula.
Use boiled or bottled water for personal hygiene: When washing hands or bathing infants, it is important to use boiled or bottled water.
Use boiled or bottled water for feeding pets: Make sure your pets have access to boiled or bottled water during this advisory.
We are actively working to address the issue and resolve it as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, we advise you to stay informed and updated through our Facebook page Sekwelwas Cayoose Creek and/or our website, https://cayoosecreek.ca/.
Your health and safety are our top priorities, and we are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
