Sekw'el'was chief and council are pleased to partner with Cayoose Creek Development Corporation (CCDC) to fund a community security guard - Colin Larochelle, working out of the Splitrock office. Colin’s hours are between 10 pm and 6 am, Thursday through Monday. Notice of Potential Emergency Works August 28th


Attention Community Members, Due to the wildfire hazards and impacts to Bridge River Generation, BC Hydro is preparing for operational changes at Seton Generating Facility. Specifically, BC Hydro is monitoring the water temperature and will trigger a water diversion from the creek into the Upper and Lower Spawning Channels (instead of from the Canal) if the temperature rises too high. BC Hydro is working with Splitrock Environmental, Antares Construction and Canadian Dewatering to plan and prepare for this emergency works. This enabled the Province to restrict travel to specific areas as needed. Texas Creek Wildfire Notice


July 25, 2023 – Dear Sekw’el’was community members,  We are actively monitoring wildfire activity in the Texas Creek area, approximately 40 km from our community, with the BC Wildfire Service.  We are in close contact with T’it’q’et leadership team and the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, who is responsible for issuing any evacuation alerts or orders.
